Recreating Spirituality in the Wake of a Cancer Diagnosis: A Dialogue

Recreating Spirituality in the Wake of a Cancer Diagnosis: A Dialogue

In this interactive workshop, open to people of all faiths, we will explore how living with cancer impacts our spirituality, often arising as a challenge to our faith journey, a sense of distress or loss, or a pull towards a deeper sense of meaning.

We will explore a myriad of issues, including:
? What does it mean to be spiritual?
? Benefits of spiritual practice
? Can we find meaning in suffering?
? How does having cancer affect our sense of purpose? ? Is there a “silver lining” in the cancer journey?
? Is there room for change in our spiritual perspective or practice? Facilitated by:

Stephen Ott, MA, BCC, Director of Pastoral Care, NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital and Deborah Vincent, MSW, LMSW, Clinical Support Manager, Gilda’s Club Westchester

Date: Thursday, December 13th
Time: 5:00—6:30 PM
Location: NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital Lobby Conference Room
