HV Support Services - Scholarships Back
Cancer for College
Cancer for College (CFC) was founded in 1993 by Craig Pollard, a two-time cancer survivor. Craig fought back from Hodgkin's disease when he was just 15. He won his second battle at age 19, after a bone marrow transplant at the City of Hope Medical Center.

"Knowing that I would ultimately return to college after my bone marrow transplant gave me the strength to keep fighting. It gave me a reason to live," said Pollard. To help provide others with this inspiration, he created Cancer for College.

Scholarships applicants must already be accepted to a university and/or attending a junior college. All applicants will receive confirmation of their application within three weeks of submission. Scholarship amounts vary, ranging from $100 one time scholarships to four year perpetual scholarships of larger dollar amounts. Cancer for College awards scholarships to current and former cancer patients who are currently attending either a four year accredited university, junior college and/or graduate school.
Cancer for College accepts scholarship applications all year and from all states. The deadline for scholarships is May1st. Scholarships are awarded at our annual banquet in September. Scholarship winners are notified no later than June 30th. Applications received after May 1st will be reviewed for the following year. Please submit applications to our California office.
