CAREGIVER ASSISTANCE for Dutchess County Residents
The Dutchess County Office for the Aging, via county, state & federal funding, offers a wide range of services to support seniors. While the demand for most services exceeds the available funding, there are some services caregivers can always take advantage of. You’ll find tips on how to take care of yourself as well as support services and contact information for organizations that can assist you. If you do not have web access, call our office at 486-2555 and ask to have the Caregivers Brochure sent to you.
We also help fund a monthly support group for caregivers that meets every third Monday at 5 PM at 26 IBM Road in Poughkeepsie. The program is coordinated by Saint Francis Home Care Services, Inc. and the next meeting will be held on December 16th. Everyone is welcome.
Saint Francis also arranges a free monthly Caregiver Workshop at locations around the county. The topic varies each month as does the location. To register for the monthly support group or to obtain a copy of the 2014 schedule of caregiver workshops, call Saint Francis Home Care at 483-5551.
