Pawling Resource Center

Who We Are

Located in the heart of Pawling at the historic John Kane House, (126 East Main St.) the Pawling Resource Center, Inc., is in many ways the “heart of Pawling.” The Resource Center is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt charitable organization devoted to offering assistance to anyone in need in the immediate community, especially the hungry, the elderly, and the homebound. We are the only service organization of its kind in Pawling and rely solely on grants and gifts for the programs that benefit hundreds of local residents each year.

Our staff, the executive director and one part-time assistant, is small. But with the help of our growing network of volunteers, our impact on the community is enormous. We are, of course, much more than our staff and volunteers. Everyone who helps during the year, from area businesses who donate goods, to residents who give with their time and their hearts, is a valued part of the Resource Center, making the heart of Pawling even bigger with each act of personal generosity. Come visit us, and become part of the Resource Center family!

Who We Serve

Our programs and services are free to those who work, live, attend school, or worship in Pawling. Whether it’s a family stricken by unemployment, an elderly person in need of a ride or a meal, or a single parent stretching a paycheck to make ends meet, the Resource Center is there to help.

We are proud of our heritage as a service organization that grew out of church fellowship and outreach programs. Begun in 1976 as a coalition of the Pawling churches, the Pawling Resource Center works closely with the religious community. We are particularly proud of the purpose at the foundation of the Center: selfless giving to others.
