When Capital Region families need help, Jewish Family Services (JFS) is ready to provide compassionate, healing services that keep families vibrant and build bridges across communities. With services that are infused with Jewish values, JFS works to strengthen individuals, families and our community.
Our team of highly skilled staff members provides individualized care for children, teens, adults, older adults and families. More than 3,000 people turn to JFS each year for help with depression, managing a life transition, coping with news of a terminal illness, parenting education and social/wellness programs for seniors.
Who We Help
The services and programs of JFS are as diverse as the people who benefit from them. Services include: counseling, court evaluations, anger management groups, mediation, supervised visitation, and parenting groups—plus a range of supportive services for seniors and their families.
Project 5…more than just a ride:
We know you value your independence. That’s why JFS offers Project 5. Inspired by the 5th Commandment, honor thy father and mother, we provide trained volunteers to drive you to and from your destinations in the Capital Region for:
Medical and dental appointments
Shopping and errands
Cultural and social events
Luncheons with friends
Call us for a ride if you are:
A Jewish senior, age 60 or over
No longer able to drive or drive at night
Able to drive, but need an occasional ride
Able to walk, or use a cane or walker
